Ewa Makowska Ashtanga Yoga Intensive Weeks and Workshops

 

 

We are so excited that Ewa is visiting us again in September and we have the chance to continue studying with her!

Ewa started learning yoga more then 20 years ago (in 2002) as a way to help herself.
Asthma, diseases of the spine (chronic prolapse of the disc and sciatica), problems with the heart, hormones, kidneys and several other ailments forced her to make her own health a priority in her life.

Ewa's first contact with Ashtanga was in 2007 and since then she has been constantly developing and practicing in this tradition. She has been a teacher for almost 20 years.

For over a decade she has been coming to Mysore in India regularly to develop her practice and skills under the guidance of Saraswathi Jois (Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute). She has participated in many workshops and courses by famous and less known teachers. Ewa explores the anatomical, energetic and, above all, spiritual aspects of Ashtanga.
For her, Ashtanga is a return to the Home that we carry deep in our hearts.

Workshop Program

Saturday 21.09. 13:30 - 17:00

"JUMPING THROUGH"
It will be a short part: how to start, how to develop this vinyasa, what solutions we have for different parts of life (injuries, exhausting, sicknesses) and how not to losing the power of the bandhas.

"TWISTING POSES"
PARIVRITTA PARŚVAKONASANA, PARIGHASANA, MARICYASANAS: C and D, ARDHA MATSYENDRASANA, BHARADVAJASANA.

We will develop the deep work in it, to work with modifications, how to build deep pelvic floor muscles to push the spine up and then twist. Grounding and work with moola bandha to open hip. Uddiyana to lift up and to rotate spine.

Learning by adjustments, how to solve different problems and how to use modifications.

Differences between those asanas (Maricyasanas and Artha Matsyendrasana/ Bharadvajasana) and points of many misunderstandings in them.
Different kinds of hip rotation and important meanings of the work of back muscles.

Ankles, arms, problems with hip’s plates or knees, how to work when femur is in wrong place at the socket, pain (causes and solutions).


Sunday 22.09. 13:30 - 17:00

BACKBENDING
PURVOTTANASANA, SALABHASANA, BHEKASANA, DHANURASANA, PARŚVA DHANURASANA, USTRASANA, LAGHU VAJRASANA (as the preparation for Kapotasana and Supta Vajrasana)

Grounding in backbendings, how to prepare knees and how to use legs and feet.

Role of fascia tapes, back muscles, right position for arms and shoulder blades. Consequences of doing in a wrong way

BAKASANA
Preparation and steps to building the balance and strength

Learning by adjustments


Thursday 03.10. 13:30 - 16:30

"JUMP INTO AND JUMP BACK FROM BHUJAPIDASANA & FINDING BALANCE IN THE POSE"

Asana technique:
– Jump into Bhujapidasana
– Bhujapidasana step by step
– Balance in Bhujapidasana

Jump back from Bhujapidasana including Titibhasana and Bakasana
How to build strength and the movement in this Vinyasa.

Cancellation policy

A binding registration takes place on the day of receipt of payment. In case of cancellation by the participant, the following participation fees will be refunded:
- up to 2 weeks before: 80%
- In case of a later cancellation a refund is not possible.

Minimum participants: 6

If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the workshop.

Eine verbindliche Anmeldung erfolgt mit dem Tag des Zahlungseingangs. Bei einer Stornierung durch den/die Teilnehmer/in werden folgende Teilnahmegebühren erstattet:
- bis 2 Wochen vorher: 80%
- Bei einer späteren Stornierung ist eine Erstattung nicht möglich.

Bei Nichterreichen der Mindest-Teilnehmeranzahl behalten wir uns vor, den Workshop abzusagen.
